About Regiane Carvalho

Regiane Carvalho is a psychoanalyst, educator, and psychopedagogue, holding a postgraduate degree in Neuroscience and currently pursuing a master's degree in Psychosomatics. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, she is dedicated to emotional health care through individual, couples, and family therapy, developing work grounded in attentive listening, theoretical depth, and a comprehensive understanding of the human being.

For over a decade, she has been a speaker and lecturer, working at the intersection of education, mental health, and human development. Through her talks and programs, she promotes reflection and practices aimed at strengthening autonomy, emotional balance, and personal and professional empowerment.

She is also a columnist and contributing writer, with articles published in newspapers and specialized magazines. The author of two books and co-author of two additional works, she has established herself as a recognized voice in integrating clinical practice, research, and knowledge dissemination.

In recent years, she has expanded her work into business mentoring for women, supporting those who, after dedicating a significant part of their lives to building and caring for their families, seek to resume or reinvent their professional paths. Her work addresses the impact of what she calls the "Half-Woman Myth"—the belief that women must choose between fulfillment in motherhood and professional achievement.

Through the concept of Intellectual Governance—the ability to intentionally organize and direct one's knowledge, experiences, and competencies—she helps women rebuild their professional identities, develop more authentic leadership styles, and create careers of excellence without sacrificing who they truly are.

Among her core competencies are leadership development, corporate training, facilitation of learning processes, problem-solving, stress management, and strengthening emotional intelligence. She provides remote consultations and mentoring, supporting women at different stages of career transition, resumption, and expansion.

Her message is clear: no woman needs to choose between different parts of herself. It is possible to claim one's place in the professional world with identity, purpose, and wholeness.

Chapter Theme

LIFE PURPOSE AND DEEP SELF-KNOWLEDGE: WHAT PSYCHOANALYSIS TEACHES US ABOUT LIVING A MEANINGFUL LIFE

In this chapter, Regiane Carvalho invites readers on a journey back to their true essence. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in psychoanalytic practice, she demonstrates that life purpose is not something to be found outside ourselves, but rather something to be recognized through deep self-knowledge.

By integrating insights from psychoanalysis, analytical psychology, and Viktor Frankl's contributions on the meaning of existence, the author reveals how external expectations, social roles, and unresolved emotional wounds can distance us from who we truly are.

Through inspiring stories and a compassionate yet practical approach, she offers pathways to reconnect with one's authenticity, understand the distinction between a purpose of life and a purpose in life, and build a more fulfilling, meaningful journey aligned with what genuinely makes the heart come alive.
